Tips for Packing
One of the most important things when completing your own packing is using good
quality, sturdy boxes. If you use poor quality materials such as wine boxes or fruit
boxes this increases the risk of damage within the box. Also if inappropriate boxes
are used then this will impact on the loading of our vehicle and the time it takes
to complete your move. We offer a range of boxes with room codes and materials which
can be purchased from our office
Tips for packing
- Make sure you use good quality strong tape for assembling your box. You should use
2 strips across the bottom flap, leaving at least 4 inches overlapping at both ends.
You can also reinforce the box by using another strip of tape across the middle
of the box.
- Do not use newspaper for packing your breakable items as the print will come off
and you will have to wash everything. We offer plain packing paper which is ideal
for protecting your effects.
- Bubble wrap can be used for extra fragile items such as ornaments.
- Breakables are best packed into one of our Small Packing Boxes as you cannot overload
them.
- If you do not fill a box with items then fill the void with paper – this way the
box will be sturdy and will not get crushed when other boxes are stacked on top
of it.
- Use a marker pen to write which room the box has come out of – this helps the removal
crew put it in the correct room at the delivery address.
